Wofford Speech, LLC is owned and operated by Terri Wofford, MS, CCC-SLP. Terri received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Central Florida and her Masters of Science Degree from East Tennessee State University. Terri is a certified and licensed Speech Language Pathologist.
Terri has over 14 years of experience working with a wide range of individuals and disorders. As a graduate student, at East Tennessee State, she was involved with several research projects, including phonological processing disorders and cleft palate research. Terri completed a thesis project, "Reliability of a Parent Questionnaire for Describing Pre-Speech Development", which investigated parent's abilities to identify characteristics of babbling. Early in her career, Terri worked for the State of Tennessee, where she developed a passion for Augmentative and Alternative Communication and Assistive Technology.
Terri has extensive experience working with children of all ages who present with: Articulation Disorders, Phonological Disorders, Receptive/Expressive Language Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Language Based Learning Disabilities.
Terri grew up with a love for horses. She has blended this love of horses with her career as a speech language pathologist, by providing clients with both traditional and equine assisted (hippotherapy) speech therapy services. Terri has attained the Level 1 Therapist status from the American Hippotherapy Association and she currently operates her business, with the help of her husband, Don, from her family's farm location in Hartwell GA.
